NPR Morning Edition did a story about the song ‘9 to 5’, and I can’t get it out of my head. Seriously, they should declare that song infectious. It’s the kind of earworm that makes you want to shove dull golf pencils in far enough to burst your eardrums.

Or is that just me?

Full disclosure: I listen to NPR. I like actual news.

Here is an apple.

Here is another apple.

Here is another apple.

We’ve always had apples here

OK. Here’s an orange.

We’ve always had apples here.

OK. Here’s another apple.

But shouldn’t it be an orange? That should be an orange.

You said we always had apples?!

We have always had Apples. Except when it should be oranges.

Fine. I’ll go get another orange.

We have always had apples here.

I’m gonna go get some tomatoes and end this conversation.

“Epicenter of feces city” has got to be one of the more unique turns of phrase I’ve ever read…

One of my best friends from school uploaded some issues of the high school newspaper I wrote for during my senior year. That’s a throwback if I’ve ever seen one. Syngin (which really should have been spelled Syngyn) was my Photon nickname, and for some reason only known to my 17 year old demented brain, I decided to use it everywhere.

That’s a 17 year old with no experience in anything, and almost 49 year old Roley just wants to cringe. I was not a happy or particularly stable teenager. Not really a stable young man, either. I’ve written in some detail about my troubled youth, and I’m sure there’s going to be a time later when I will write in more detail about who I was, who I am, and who and what I’ve left behind. That time isn’t right now, except to say this…

The 5th Doctor once said, “I am not the man I was. Thank goodness.”

Thank Goodness, indeed.
