I mentioned in my post “Twenty Five Years” that I have an alarm clock ticking on me, and that the first one is five years away. It’s not that far away, but it’s far enough that I don’t want to dwell on it. In fact, it’s best to stay present. Stay in the now. What I’ve managed to figure out that is that the more you spend on what has happened, or what may happen, you’re not spending enough time on what’s happening right this moment. Spend to much time in the past or the future, and you can’t make something happen right now. You have to act in the present in order to change your future.
You have to create the future IN the present.
So stop worrying about what’s going to happen in a year, and work every day in that year to create what you want to see. There’s a lot of road between now and then, and those all too easy mental detours will get you no closer to your destination.
